New Favorite Site

Can you add a menu to the beginning of this VHS tape? You know, like a DVD so we can skip forward.

Through Google Reader I found this site called Clients From Hell.  The above is a quote my cube-set had a laugh at for a good 5 minutes late last week. They just keep getting better and better. Although I am not a designer, and I don't answer help desk requests, I get way too much joy from this site.

Another quote:

From 2-16-10

Client: “[Indian outsourcer] says he can do this site for $200.  Why should I go with you?”

Me: “Has he done any work for you in the past?”

Client: Yeah!  He did [Other Site] for me.

[I load the other site]

Me: “The entire site’s done in Flash.”

Client: “Huh?”

Me: “It’s a site for iPhone users.”

Client: “I know.  Cool, huh?”

Me: “It’s a site for iPhone users… none of whom can see it…”

Client: “Huh?”

Me: “The iPhone doesn’t support Flash.”

Client: “Well it looks fine on my PC!”

Me: “Do you have an iPhone?”

Client: “No.”

Me: “…”

Client: “Tell you what, I’m just gonna go with [Indian outsourcer].  He seems like he knows what he’s doing and I’m not sure you do.”

Me: “Have fun.”

I think part of the reason I love this site is I am around people who make comments like this ALL the time. Today, it was "we should only cater to people who use IE and forget about Firefox users". Needless to say, as a Mac user and someone who despises IE, this did not go over too terribly well with me. I am not going to go into what is wrong with this person statement. Let's just forget about the double-digit percentage of people who access our site in Firefox...for my site, about 50% of the hits are from Firefox. I need to submit that whole conversation to Clients From Hell.
